WHO ARE WE?

DAVE & LINDA SWEET
Linda was born and raised in Germany to missionary parents, so it is more like home to her than the States. Her ministry took her to various towns in Bavaria, where she was part of teams involved in church planting. Dave came into the picture in 1983, where he met Linda during his days of language study. They were married in 1985 and began their ministry in the town of Fuessen, on the German/Austrian border. After nine years, helping to establish the church in Fuessen, they and their three boys moved in 1994 to the eastern side of Berlin, the capital of Germany where they are still working today.

CHRISTINE SEARS
After growing up in Massachusetts and graduating from a Bible Institute, I landed in southern Germany on New Years Eve, 1969. I worked in southern Germany until 1997, when I moved to the former communist east part of Berlin. Now my ministry is with people who have no knowledge of God. Besides working with children and some one on one Bible studies, I have many contacts with unbelievers. I am also learning German sign language in order to reach out to the hearing impaired.

DANIEL & DEBBIE WILLOUGHBY
Daniel was born and grew up in Columbia, South America, one of five "kid missionaries" in the family of Spud and Char Willoughby. Debbie grew up in Iowa, and her home church just "happened" to support the Willoughby family. After the Lord led them to marry in 1984, they started to prepare toward the goal of missionary service. Daniel and Debbie were on deputation for Uruguay, South America in 1989 when the Berlin Wall fell, and the Iron Curtain opened up. After much prayer and counsel from others, they moved to Germany in 1990 to help establish a new church planting team in former East Berlin. They and their five "kid missionaries" have lived in eastern Berlin since 1993.

BRIANA EFTA
I was born in 1985 in California, but moved with my family to Poland in 1991 so that my family could be involved in missionary work. We were there until 1999, when my father became the pastor of a church in Kansas. Through a rough growing-up period and several stints at colleges and a university, I came to believe fully in God and in His call for me to join mission work. I am working with BMW to establish mission work with Polish people (see the Poland page on the BMW website), but am working here in Berlin until a team is ready for Poland.

ALBRECHT AND BARBARA SCHMIDT
Albrecht and Barbara both came to Christ later in life. They met and married in California while at a New-Age compound to learn how to follow the philosophy, and then moved back to Germany with the hopes of starting their own New-Age center. Through the witness of some believers and study of the Bible and other literature, they decided to leave the New Age faith and to follow Christ. Since then, they have been involved in various ministries around Germany, and are now in the process of church-planting in a town a little north of Berlin.
