A
MISSIONARY'S DREAM IN FIJI
From
Bill Lake, Area Director for Asia and the Pacific
I
am sure it was a dream. It just had to be! It is the dream that
each and every missionary has ever had! It is not possible that
this is reality I thought to myself. It must be the Fiji heat that
has finally gotten to me. I was sure I was hearing things. I ask
again just to make sure that I understood what this man was asking
of me as he spoke to me in broken English. "Do you know anyone
who would come and learn my language so that I might understand
the gospel of Jesus?" It is true and it was not a dream, it
was reality. I told him I would do my best to help. We are getting
him help.
Fiji has a population
of 400,000 Indians from India. They speak Fiji-Hindi. At Biblical
Ministries Worldwide we are seeking to find some laborers who will
take the task of learning this heart language so the gospel can
be shared freely among this group of forgotten people. We need a
unit (a family, couple, or individual) for the Labasa area and two
units for the Nadi team.
The above picture
shows one of the many false gods they worship. They believe that
this rock is growing and they need to appease it. If only we had
someone to tell them that the true and living God has been already
appeased through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Would you be one
of them to bring the glory of the true God to those who have "changed
the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible
man" (Romans 1:23)?
