The BMW team is committed to establishing local churches. The vast majority of BMW's work in Uruguay has been in two cities: Montevideo and Minas. God has blessed, and these works are currently being turned over to Uruguayan leadership. Now BMW has begun the process of expanding into new areas with the goal of starting even more churches as well as developing more leaders.

  • Two missionary couples are in the initial stages of evangelism in the small rural communities of central Uruguay.
  • Alongside other likeminded missions and churches, the Facultad de Estudios Biblicos del Uruguay (FEBU)(College of Biblical Studies of Uruguay) was started in March 2014 with the purpose of training pastors and leaders for Uruguayan churches.
  • Aptas para Servir (Ladies Able to Serve) has been created for BMW and like-minded churches to help train ladies to serve in their local churches.
  • A radio ministry has been an effective way of reaching out into small town and rural areas.

How can you come alongside and help?

  • Church Planters: Church planters are needed to team up with missionaries and/or national pastors to reach out into the many communities who have never heard the gospel.
  • Tentmakers: Tentmakers are needed who would work in a business that will allow them to assist full-time church planters.
  • Giving: Here are some financial opportunities for the furtherance of the gospel.

    1. Facultad de Estudios Biblicos del Uruguay: Financial assistance is needed to help cover the on-going expenses of the college and/or help provide scholarships for students as we seek to train future leaders for the churches in Uruguay. Also, $300,000 is currently needed for a property for the school. For more information, please contact Jerry Glass.
    2. Radio Ministry: $300 a month can help support two radio programs reaching out into the interior of the country. For more information, please contact Tim Willoughby.
  • Short-term Missions: Individuals and teams can come to Uruguay to serve alongside our missionaries (some knowledge of Spanish is preferred).

  • Deaf Ministry: Church-planters are needed to team up with a deaf church to reach the deaf in the interior of the country.  For more information, please contact Keith Hock.

We are thankful for what the Lord has done in bringing men and women to Himself, establishing the churches that are on the road to autonomy, and the opening this year of FEBU, which signifies the growth of the church here in Uruguay as well as the greater recognition of the need for qualified leadership. Praise Him with us! But please pray with us for...

  • New missionaries/tentmakers to come alongside to reach Uruguay for Christ.
  • The smooth transition of churches to national leadership.
  • The growth of the college (FEBU) as men and women respond to God's call.
  • The salvation of souls through different forms of evangelism: relationships, evangelistic meetings, the radio ministry, etc.
  • God's leading as we seek to reach out to more towns and cities.
  • $300,000 for a property for the school.
