THE IMPORTANCE OF VISION
The direction of a church or organization is critical. The present trajectory will probably determine where it will be several years down the road. Therefore, we devote a lot of time and attention to determining where we are headed. Our strategies and plans must be in submission to the will of God (Acts 16:6-10; James 4:13-17). Man makes his plans, but God directs his steps (Proverbs 16:9). We would not be so arrogant as to suggest we know the future. But to the best of our ability, we are going to focus on the following:
BMW's VISION - "To be a mission family advancing and empowered by prayer"
Prayer is the main pillar of our vision for the future. We are focused on expanding and intensifying prayer to unprecedented levels ... both "in" and "for" the BMW mission family. We acknowledge that "without Him we can do nothing." Therefore prayer must be first and foremost. We are not going to abandon our work in establishing local churches. That remains the visible outcome of our evangelism, discipleship and leadership training. But PRAYER is going to permeate and saturate our work.
We want to be "empowered" by prayer. We also want to be "advancing" by prayer. It is not acceptable to remain where we are. It is our heart desire to be moving forward as a mission family. In view of that, we are launching 15 TACTICAL TEAMS made up of missionaries from around the world. They will address 15 critical issues facing BMW. Some of those are: enlistment, expansion, succession planning, partnerships, fund raising, theological integrity, attrition, and spiritual vitality.
